- Propizole 25 acts as a systemic fungicide by inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, by blocking the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, ultimately disrupting the fungal cell membrane and causing the fungus to die; essentially, it works by interfering with the fungus’s ability to produce a crucial component of its cell wall, ergosterol, leading to cell death
